Our Walk-In Program provides groceries for anyone over 18 living within Seattle City Limits and is open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10am-1pm. Customers should bring a photo ID. If a photo ID is not available, customers should bring a utility bill or other official piece of mail with their Seattle address on it. New customers can register quickly at the check-in computer. Since bags are not always available, customers should bring a bag or box to carry groceries. Available groceries vary week to week, but a variety of meat, vegetables, fruits, dairy products, frozen items, canned goods and more are available every week. All customers must stand in line.
Home Delivery Program
Home Deliveries are made to home bound residents on Wednesdays. Eligible home delivery recipients are at least 18 years old and live within about 5 miles of The Food Bank @ St. Mary’s. This program serves those who are unable to come to our Walk-In Program (or do not have anyone to come to the food bank for them) due to age, illness, injury, or disability. Interested customers must fill out and return an application. Once the application is received, applicants will be visited by a staff member and volunteer to determine eligibility. PLEASE NOTE: This program currently has a waiting list. For more information or to receive an application, please call (206) 324-7100 x23 or email email@example.com.
Baby Corner Program
Our Baby Corner Program runs during the first full week of each month (our weeks begin on Mondays) during our Walk-In Program on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10 am-1 pm. Eligible customers must live within Seattle City Limits and should have children under 2 years old. Customers must bring documentation of current Seattle address (photo ID or utility bill), and a birth certificate and/or medical coupon for the child. For children 0-6 months, families will receive a package of diapers, a package of formula, and a package of wipes. For children 6 months-2 years, families will receive a package of diapers and as many jars of baby food as desired, depending upon supply. Customers should stand in line with other customers until a Baby Corner volunteer comes through the line to help them. Due to rising demand and limited supplies, some sizes of diapers may not be in stock.
Toddler Bag Program
Toddler Bags are available while supplies last during our Walk-In Program on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10 am-1 pm. Eligible families live within Seattle City Limits and have a child between the ages of 2-5. Upon first visit, customers must present child’s medical coupon or birth certificate. Interested customers should stand in line and can ask for a Toddler Bag at the check-in window and may get one bag per child each week. Customers who receive bags may also pick up food in the Walk-In Program. Bags may not be available at every visit.
No Cook Bag Program
No Cook Bags are filled with items that do not require a kitchen for cooking or a refrigerator for storage. These bags are reserved for homeless individuals or those without access to cooking facilities (such as families whose utilities have been turned off). This service is offered during our Walk-In Program on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10 am-1 pm. Customers interested in this program should stand in line with other customers; a volunteer will come around and serve No Cook Bag customers one at a time.
Hygiene products are distributed as they become available through the donation stream. Due to limited resources, we are unable to guarantee that specific items will be in stock each month. When hygiene products are available, these items will be offered during our Walk-In Program on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays between 10 am-1 pm.
Feeding Hungry Children Program
In the belief that hungry children cannot learn, this program serves school children in seven educational locations in Seattle. Our program ensures that children of low income families go home with “kid-friendly,” easy to open, nutritious food, including fruits, veggies, shelf stable milk and juices so we know there is food in the cupboard and on weekends. Additionally, some of the children are being fed breakfast, lunch and after school through our food bank.
Mobile Food Bank
Our most recently started program is the Mobile Food Bank. Food is picked up from us by a volunteer and brought to the Filipino Community Center within the heart of 98118, the most diverse zip code in the USA. The food is distributed to about 500 people each week, all who mostly live in South and Southeast Seattle. They are mostly elderly, many are disabled and in wheelchairs and walkers.
